Does anyone have any experience with using a Nanny here in Calgary? If so - any tips / suggestions on how to find a good one?
Background: work sent me to Australia for 4 months and I dragged the family along with me (wife + 2 kids; 1 & 3). While we were down there - we used a nanny service (Dial and Angel) just to get her some help while I was working far too many hours most weeks.
Fast forward to now - we have returned and she kind of got used to the luxury of having a nanny to get out and explore / shop / appointments etc. It worked out to 12-16 hours a week, which is about the max we'd be looking for again, so it's not we're looking for a full-time position; just a regular couple hours during the week and on Friday nights for us to go out.
Any suggestions? Apparently there is a service here called "Nanny's on Call" which sounds similar to our Australia service. Anyone used it?
We live in the NW near the university, so my 1st thought was trying to find a student interested in making a couple bucks a few days a week when they're not in class, but finding the right person might be tough.
