Default Business and Sales Success

I decided on a career change a few years ago and I'm now a territory rep for a surgical orthopedic company. I thought it might be interesting and productive to share any advice we might have to give each other pointers.

1. What was the biggest challenge(s) you faced in achieving business and/or sales success in your given field?

2. What do you know now that you wish you knew then?

1. For me, my biggest challenge was gaining the confidence to cold call busy surgeons.

2. I'll throw out a unique one here. I found that giving up coffee gave me the greatest boost in my business success. I used to think that drinking coffee throughout the day gave me energy and motivation. Ironically, I'm much more calm and clear when I speak with clients now that I'm not always 'wired'.

How about you?

NSFW!

AIDA

If you have to deal with an internal department and depend on them, ie service department, be sure to make them happy.

Be organized!

Don't spend your clients money for them, never assume that they can't afford a proposed solution. If your solution fills a need they will pay for it. Assuming you are in the audience of those that don't make the financial decisions, bean counters, it's all about the "c" suite.

Don't take no from someone who can't say yes.
