The driver of the truck, who is missing along with the cargo, has a criminal record for theft. Last year, he pleaded guitly and served five months in jail for stealing $6,000 worth of bracelets from a Fredericton jewelry store, 52 toothbrushes from a grocery store, and $120 worth of lobster from another grocery store. He's recently been charged with Theft under $5,000 (from an electronics store) for an incident that happened in April after he was released from jail. The trucking company he worked for said they were aware that he had a criminal record, but didn't know that it was for theft.
The driver's family has not heard from him -- police are looking for a 6'1" tall white male, who is likely very, very intoxicated and has remarkably clean teeth.
