The hacker group Lulz Security is claiming it released log-in information for 62,000 private internet accounts Thursday, including Facebook, PayPal, dating sites, Xbox Live and Twitter.
The list is mostly American accounts but includes hundreds of Canadians, including a CBC journalist from Prince Edward Island, and employees of all three levels of government, including provincial public servants in Alberta, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island and at least one municipal worker in Whitehorse.

They just released a bunch of emails with passwords, but they didn't say what site they were from though. So if you're a person that likes to reuse passwords, then be careful...

FYI the list emails is here:

Also the group responsible for DDoSing the CIA site, PBS, Fox, Sony (twice) and a few cyber security sites.

Those wanting to double check whether or not they got compromised, just CTRL+F any of your usernames in the above list ^^.

With the exception of my bank account, I can't think of a single online account that bears my real information.

This still scares the crap out of me.

I'm actually glad they're doing this. It'll keep the companies they're attacking on their toes with the security policies they use.

OMG... my name is on there 3 times... well, its not, but we're 15 posts in, and haven't seen anyone freak out yet. I don't want to say anything bad about these hackers, cause appariently they're good at what they do, so lets just leave it at that.

Plus, there is no reason anyone should be able to get PayPal information. Or Facebook information.

Hopefully these attacks open some eyes.

I did a scan of that list; 90 @telus addresses and the results showed over 100 @shaw.ca addresses. So odds are somebody here knows somebody on that list.
