Default Bubba Smith dies

RIP Officer Hightower, dies at age 66.

Quote:
Bubba Smith, the former NFL star and "Police Academy" movie actor, has died at the age of 66.

It is believed Smith died of natural causes, but authorities said an autopsy would be conducted to determine the cause, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

Police said there were no signs of foul play at Smith's home in Baldwin Hills, Calif., where he was found dead Wednesday afternoon

His caretaker discovered the body and called police.

The autopsy will be performed later this week.

Smith was a 6-foot-7 defensive end and tackle for the Baltimore Colts, Oakland Raiders and Houston Oilers from 1967 through 1976.

He also was a star college football player at Michigan State University. Smith played in one of the most famous college games, dubbed "The Game of the Century" by the media, against Notre Dame. The 1966 game between the top two ranked teams ended in a 10-10 tie.

He went on to a career as an actor and as a pitchman for Miller Lite.

He was best known as Officer Moses Hightower in the "Police Academy" movies.

With Tackleberry, Mahoney and Hightower now gone, that pretty much ends any hope for a Police Academy reunion.

Steve Guttenberg is dead, isn't he?

Nope

In August 2010, Guttenberg revealed a script for Police Academy 8 was being written by David Diamond and David Weissman.[9]
On August 9, 2010, actor Bobcat Goldthwait released a statement urging Hollywood to reboot the Police Academy series with a new group of actors instead of the original cast members. Goldthwait confirmed that Steve Guttenberg would return and that movie bosses were trying to get Kim Cattrall and Sharon Stone to return for an 8th sequel though Goldthwait said he had no desire to return to the series.[10]

Since when was Sharon Stone in Police Academy? That was Janet Jones (Gretzky).
