Weekday Shinny/Drop-in Hockey ?

Anyone know of any shinny around downtown during the weekdays? Not a problem for me to take an hour or 2 off to go play hockey, but I need somewhere to go

When I lived in Calgary a year or so ago me and buddy went on the hunt to see if we could find some type of drop in floor and/or ice hockey but didn't really come up with anything.

Same in Victoria, it sucks!

Page 91 has the shinny schedules. I think it's something like $5 per skate.

No worries. Some of the arena's fill up every lunch hour (cap of 24 skaters) so you may have to get there a bit early. I find a half hour is usually enough time but it depends on the rink and the day.

south fish creek has it too. i think tuesday and thursday at 3pm and monday, wednesday, friday at noon

Every Tue and Thu at 12PM, University (Olympic Oval). $5

Sometimes we have 3 on 3 and other days we have a full lineup with 4 guys on each bench.

^^^^ thats a good one too, I'll have to try to get out there... Worst part of the oval is the fact that 5 min of my lunch break is spent walking from the dressing room to the ICE!...

Where do you park up there now, The whole parking lot construction thing was a giant mess last time I was up there..

Lot 10 is pretty close to the Oval, I think it's $3 to park.

Open to everyone, of course it's mostly students and staff but we have a few others who drop in.

I've been four times. First time I drove all the way there and was twenty minutes early and they were full. Two times in a row I showed up 25 minutes early and got a spot no problem but by noon they were full up and turning people away. The last time I went 25 minutes early and got turned away. But I managed to talk to the Hopewell Developers guy that had the Joseph Krysyayays rented out and they let me skate with them.

So pretty much everytime I have gone it has been full. Half hour early should guarantee you a spot (hopefully!)

Can people list what they know about weekday schedules?

Cardel place monday, wednesday, friday's 1500 - 1615. check schedule though on there website, somedays are cancelled ahead of time.
