Tim hortons quality
Tim Hortons quality or lack thereof
Is that coffee?
I had a "smoothie" a couple days ago...never again.
Canadian icon?
Shame
If dead people can turn over in their graves, Tim Horton is.

To me, Tim Hortons hides behind its deceptive "wholesome" Canadian commercials and self assessed "blue collar" persona.
In reality, they are like any other big corporation...nothing more, nothing less. The fact that they stopped making their doughnuts in-store is some evidence of that.
They do good things for the community, but otherwise, they kind of get a free-pass when they shouldn't.

I like it better than Starbucks.
I go there every morning. I love it. Call me addicted, or whatever, but I really enjoy their coffee and sandwiches.

I am not a big fan of their products. Their coffee, if taken black, does not taste very good. Their sandwiches are over priced and again, not very good.
But the thing I hate most about them is that their popularity in the mornings on the way to work creates traffic problems and pushy drivers.

They keep making terrible decisions... so many items I loved, they removed from their menu... their sandwiches and doughnuts are not as good as they were either... but at least they still have their coffee.

All the way to the Zombie Bank.
Iced Capps are fantastic, those smoothies they just got... are the worst thing I've ever had.

I sure don't enjoy going there anymore. I had a black coffee at McDonalds the other day, and it was miles ahead of what they are brewing at Timmies.

Their doughnuts taste gross now since they've stopped making them in store.

The doughnuts are worse now, but the coffee is more or less the same as it always has been. But 10 or 20 years ago coffee in Canada everywhere was truly dismal, it was little more than brown coloured water (or "irish creme" flavoured brown water)... add cream and sugar to that and it no longer had any coffee taste at all. At that time, Tim Hortons was the only chain selling coffee that tasted anything like coffee.
The difference now is that most other chains have improved their coffee substantially.

In my opinion Mcdonalds has always had the best "fast" coffee for a long time now.
But I think some people tend to associate Mcdonalds with Heart attacks, diabetes, general obesity, Al Quaida, the economy and other disgustingness. So they avoid Mcdonalds all together.
I much prefer it to Tom Hortons.

Unscientifically, I have obvserved that people who take their coffee black (myself included) do not like TH, but people who think its "God's coffee" usually take a ton of cream and sugar.
But yeah, Tim Horton drivers are the freakin' worst, most impolite pieces of crap ever. I mean did it even occur to you lady that I was trying to cut through you to go to Mary Brown's? huh? like everybody in the whole mall on blackfoot and 46th wants your stupid coffee? And I was just sitting here trying to take your place in line?

I've taken this fight to the streets. Wrote in to complain about how poor the lids on the Tim Hortons cups perform. I wish I could find my original email.

I go to Tims because it tastes the same and the menu is the same. XL regular just tastes the same almost every time (except the Tims on Center st up around 40th N).
Since there are so many franchises, it's easy to just find one that's close and go get what I'm used to. Sort of like when I want breakfast I go to McDicks. Not A&W, not BK, only McDonalds.
It's not a snob thing, it's a familiarity thing. Nobody is trying to convince anyone that Tims has "the BEST" coffee. It's just habit. Sometimes I stop at Petro, sometimes I stop at Macs. In those cases, the coffee is just as mediocre, often more expensive, and I have to prepare it myself... So why not go to Tims and sit in the drive thru for 5 minutes and surf CP? Or just run inside if I'm in a hurry?
I think it's hilarious how much the haters hate Tims. It takes just as long at most places anyway. Yeah there are sometimes biiiig lines at Tims, but it just as usual to see a big line at Petro or at McDonalds. Or Starbucks.

It's decent tasting and it's cheap. That's why they do so well....well that and they play the hockey card hard up here in Canada.
