I'm headed to Vancouver with a friend this Thursday for 4 days to see the QOTSA/Soundgarden concert on Friday evening. Other than doing that, we have essentially nothing planned as neither of us really know anything about the city. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations/suggestions on things to do while we're there?
Definitely check out Granville Island/Granville Island Brewing Company. I did the brewery tour when I was there last, learned a lot and got to try a bunch of different brews.
wander through east Hastings and play "Find the best crackwhore deal"
East Hastings is probably fifteen kms long and the bad area that you talk About is probably a km Maybe two kmslong. Not to mention you can make a case that west Hastings around main street is probably worse. Just a bad generaliAtion on your part. If you're gonna come and try to be clever, you should really check your facts as opposed to furthering a stupid stereotype and looking like a fool in the meantime.
To the OP, my must see tourist stuff in Vancouver is:
Stanley park/English bay sea wall
Granville island
Shopping and/or restaurants on robson
Lynn valley suspension bridge/park
Grouse grind/or gondola to top of mountain and enjoy te view....as long the weather holds uP
Nightlife on Granville, the Roxy is always popular, but I have yet to have a bad time there
Kits beAch
Go to Hastings race trAck and take in the sun while betting on horses
You can google all this stuff and get more info

Not looking to start anything, i dont wanna start a back and forth pissing match. Just pointing out your "joke" was unfunny, unoriginal and most of all, inaccurate. But that is the same as the rest of this thread as well which has now become very predictable given what happened last month.

Kinda hypocritical given your previous post when all you had to do is ignore mine
But it looks like the issue at hand was that I offended you with a comment or a "joke" involving Vancouver, so with that said...
sorry guys, I guess the sideshow that is this thread will have to continue without me.

If you're in a hiking mood and wanna get out of the city for a day, drive to Squamish and hike The Chief. Amazing views from either peak. A day trip to Victoria is not a bad idea as well but money gets up there when you tack on feery charges.
