Default Getting to the Stampede grounds

Hey all,

My wife and I are coming up tomorrow (Thursday) to check out the Stampede. We will be staying in a hotel near the Deerfoot Inn and are wondering what the best way is to get to the grounds from there. As far as I know, the hotel does not offer any kind of shuttle service, so would taking the C-Train be the best way?

You could drive to the Anderson LRT park and ride. Just take Deerfoot north from the casino and exit off at Anderson. Follow the signs from there to the Park N' Ride.

Depending on your budget there is plenty of parking around the Stampede, I've seen signs for spots from $10 and up depending on how close they are to the grounds.

Are they the sketchy parking spots at/near 17th ave or are there more somewhere else?

Is the train free from Downtown to the stampede station?

Maybe, some are in Ramsay, some are the lots directly north of the dome, some are west of my condo building. I really wouldn't worry about the "shady" spots right now, there are people everywhere, so unless you make your car look like the most tempting target in the world I wouldn't be too concerned.

If you are up for walking a bit; I would take the 302 BRT bus. It is a quasi-express bus:

Bus route
Then walk this part.

there is a covered parking lot on 15th ave in-between center and 1st SW that offers up 10 parking. You can get a shaded spot there. It is about a 5 min walk to entrance from there.

If you get there before 10am, there are tons of spots at Talisman Centre, and more spots just north of 25Ave and Macleod.

They're $20.
