Sturm and Phillips out
The Capitals went into the night 8.5 million over cap after seriously miscalculating their RFAs. This meant we had to move out some salary and take some ratings hits.
The first deal see's Chris Philips (69ov , 5 Million x 1yr) head to Colorado for Andy Sutton (64 ov, 0.75k x 1 year), Jordan Hendry (Ahl) , prospect Anton Blomqvist and 750k.
Cap Savings of 5million.
The second deal sees Marco Sturm (64ov, 6 million x 2yrs), 3 million in 2011, and 3.25 million in 2012 head to St. Louis for Dman Mark Fraser (AHL)
Cap Savings of 3 Million.
Shean Donovan was waived, so we are now at the salary cap. The problem is that we are 2 forwards and a coach short of a full roster. However, it is only cap purgatory now.
