Dave Sheldon leaves, Heat looking for new PBP guy

It hasn't been officially announced yet, however Sheldon said on Tuesday he has resigned as the team's commentator and director of communications and broadcast, and will now take a job as the host of Sportstalk Weekend on CKNW AM 980.

I highly doubt it will happen, but I would love nothing more than for Loubardias to become our new PBP guy. But he's too used to the TV PBP and the big NHL market I'm not sure he'd go for it.

If he did become the new Heat PBP guy, I'd have to seriously consider not going to any Heat games and just listen to the radio

Yeah, on this:

He's attributing his resignation to the fact that it was hard for him to balance his family and commute to Abbotsford from Vancouver every day.

Sounds like a weak excuse to me. When you're a high up executive for an AHL team, you move to Abbotsford where you can get a big piece of property for the same price as an appartment in Van.

He just gave up an awesome job for an excuse that could be easily resolved. Just my opinion though.
