Blues make another move

The St. Louis Blues have shipped out Saku Koivu and Shane Prince (61st overall pick in 2011 draft), along with $5.1mm of cap for Mark McNeill (18th overall pick)

Both sides felt Koivu was worth a later 1st pick, and with McNeill being 18th overall, we felt adding Prince to the deal evened things out.

The Kings are looking like a solid team this year and this will hopefully help them out even more.

For us, this clears out an additional $2.4mm of cap space and adds to a growing list of 1st round prospects in our ECHL.

This deal was in the making for quite a while, and although it puts me into temorary "cap hell", it was a deal that makes sense for both teams as the Kings are taking a run for the cup and desperately needed leadership.

If you send down Colin Wilson and your two goalies and make some room in your AHL then you only need an extra $0.50mm in cap space it looks like. No use having all those extra guys in the CPHL.
