Parking at the Airport [MRG]
I know that they have that big new lot at the airport, I think it is $60/week but I am not sure on the day rate.
If I am parking at the airport for 4 days (Friday through Monday) what is my best alternative? Should I park at this lot? Or should I go for cover for a little more? I don't even remember what the normal lot costs? Anybody know the parking situation at the airport a little better?

I thought it was $50 or $55 when I parked there. It was your exact scenario, leave on a Friday, come back on a Monday.
So nice to just be able to walk to the airport from your car and not have to wait for a park n' jet shuttle.

For longer stays I would recommend using Park 2 Go.
-Book Online
-Pull up to their lot
-An attendant comes over, gives you a card with your reservation number
-Right into the shuttle bus to the airport
-When you get back you call the number and give them your reservation number
-Shuttle picks you up and your car is started and waiting for you
Very nice when returning during colder temperatures. I think a 10 day stay was about $100. They also have what they call the "9 minute hassle free drop off guarantee". They certainly had us at the terminal that quick.

Actually I just checked and Park and Jet from a Friday to Monday costs $37.64.
The economy lot at the airport is apparently $40 a week now (I swear that's a reduction):

I second Park 2 Go. On our return from Mexico we were on the road on our way home in under 10 minutes of picking up our luggage.
The even had a wireless terminal on their bus so we could pay for the parking on the way to the lot.

I guess I'm just not that comfortable with that idea. How do I know that upon my return; with my car sitting in -20 for a week, that the 18 year old lot attendant didn't just let it warm up for all of 3 seconds before putting it into gear?

Meh, I could care less. But that's just me.
Now if they are using the cars in the lot for "illegal activities" (ie: Seinfeld) then I might be more concerned.

I think the new Airport parkade is the best option. It's about $15-20 more per week than the uncovered lot...

Careful with the airport lot. If you're in P1 it's not long term (the one with the spiral access that fotze was talking about). The long term is P2. Their economy lot is the cheapest in the area that I've found, although it's weekly rates only (no daily)

I've parked in P1 by accident (thought it was long term) and it cost me $300 for a little over 2 weeks.

You can park daily and even hourly in the economy lot. I parked in there a few weeks ago to visit my parents while they had a 3 hour layover as the daily $9.95 max beats $12/hr in the short term parkade. Total was $7 something for 2 1/2hrs. It's only a couple minute walk from the north end of the airport.
As for long term it's $39.95 for the first week. Clever trick to screw you if you park there for 2 or more weeks. **$39.95 weekly rate is valid for economy lot. Weekly is defined as maximum charge for up to a seven-day stay. The daily rate is applied until weekly rate is reached. If you stay longer, the daily rate applies for each day after seven days.

Just park in the covered lot, then on your way out go press the ticket thing, get a new ticket, and receive your 30 mins of free parking....... It just may work.

^ That's actually quite tempting but my luck would never allow me to get away with it. The day I'd try it would be the day they decide to have a major sting operation with lookouts all over waiting to bust my sorry ass.

This had me wondering so I just gave them a call. According to the fella I talked with it's true until you get to the additional seventh day, then it's $39 again max for the week, hence two weeks = $80. I hope he's right, cuz it's where I intend to park for an upcoming two week trip. Can anyone else confirm or deny?

Buzzard- what did you end up doing?
I'm leaning towards using that $40 lot this week; anybody else have anything to add?

^^
I have used that lot dozens of times for work (less than 1 week) and a couple time for holidays (> 1 week).
No Problems.
I used to use park To go but waiting for the ride late at night drives me crazy. I prefer to walk 5 mins than wait 5 mins. That and my car was never actually warm anyway.

Ended up getting a ride there, and took a cab home. Saved a few extra bucks rather than parking there.

I came back from Florida last week and did the $40/week parking. Worked out perfectly. It's not covered...but I don't really care about parking under cover.
