Wow, WTF has happened to Mike Weir? After six holes, he's dropped out.

Cue the Vancouver fans rioting. This time with golf clubs.

It's too bad about Mike Weir. He was really the only good Canadian that I like cheering for.

Great leaderboard after two rounds, with Schwartzel, Fowler and Ogilvy all there, and two Canadians only two shots off the lead.

Five Canadians in total made the cut - Hearn, Hadwin, Fritsch, McQuillan and Risdon.

What the heck happened to Anthony Kim - 69 followed by an 81 and a DQ? I couldn't find any info as to why he was disqualified.

Kim signed an incorrect scorecard 80 instead of 81.

Wouldn't have helped anyways

Would be nice to see an unheralded player win this tournament.

While I understand where you are coming from the best thing to happen to this tournament is likely a guy like McIlroy winning and then wanting to come back to defend his title.

This tournament has been dogged by terrible scheduling and needs to attract big players anyway it can.

For sure. No question about that. Especially the last part.

Hadwin's birdied two of the first three holes and is tied for the lead!!!!!

Edit: 3 of the first 4.. he's now got the lead alone!!!!!!!!!!

Brilliant course choice and setup, love to see our national championship course have some teeth. Time for the RCGA to flex some financial muscle with the PGA to get a better date and the resulting better field. No reason why this tournament couldn't be marketed into a sub major, with the right date.

Another option that's been talked about is to join the European Tour if the PGA Tour continues to dog this tournament around. With this prize money or a bit lower it would immediately be one of the bigger prize pools in the race to Dubai. With all the great players now being European it would be a great draw. The European tour plays everywhere from Singapore to South Africa so Canada wouldn't be a stretch.
