Canada's Sports Hall of Fame Needs Your Help Finding Hockey Artefacts
Hi Everyone,
I'm a curatorial assistant with Canada's Sports Hall of Fame and we need help getting some artefacts. I figured if I were to ask on the internet, this would be the place.
Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame is due to open in Calgary on July 1st, 2011. In order to finalize a display of hockey players we are looking for equipment that we may be able to borrow for 2-3 years from your collections. What's totally cool about this is that you'll get your name in the credits.
The items include the following:
Hockey Skates, hockey pads and pants
2 prs. 1940’s, 1950’s, 1970’s
1 prs. , 1960’s , 1980’s, 1990’s
Hockey sticks:
CCM – 1952-1971
Titan – TPM – 1979-1988
Koho – 1984-2006
Victoriaville – 1966-1976
Helmets:
Jofa – white
Gloves:
3 prs. Tan, full length – 1952-1971
Jofa – red and blue – 1979-1988
Koho – black and white – 1984-2006
1 pr. – goalie, brown – 1953-1963
If you have anything that would fit, please feel free to PM me. And if you have any really interesting hockey memorabilia, don't hesitate to drop me a line. CP, don't let me down!

How about a coffee table made out of game used sticks collected by some guy at the saddledome in '89?

There isn't enough Febreeze in the world to get my 80's and 90's gear museum ready.

Hi guys, one last bump. Would really really love to get Koho black and white gloves and stick from the early 90s. Please help us out!

I think I still have my dad's old gloves in my bag that are brown and from the 60s (I think). Can't remember what brand they are. I know that they have seen better days.

I might be able to help you out with a pair or skates. My dad has been using his skates for a solid 40 years at least. I'll check in with him and shoot you a pm.

You know what, one more request. It doesn't hurt to ask. Anyone have old school goalie pads from around 1953-1963? Let me know.

I still have my dad's old hockey equipment kicking around somewhere.
The gloves look pretty similar to the ones on the left:

Are we going to see stuff from real athletes at this thing, or just stuff kicking around from people's garages?

Yeah, 99% of the stuff is from the athletes. This is just stuff to finish full uniforms. We have the jerseys and various equipment, but athletes didn't donate full sets.
