Cat Question need help
So our cat who is about 10 years old has all of a sudden pooping on the carpet. She still pees in her litter box but continues to poop on the carpet. I have no idea why she is all of a sudden doing this and she is acting normal so is there any weird reason why she would be doing this?

Did you change the litter brand recently?
We have to use one type only of litter or my cat will poop on the floor as well...he's a bitch like that.

Based on what I've seen from my parents cat who started doing the same thing around 12 years old: Age. They get old, they get weird.
A couple things you might want to rule out first:
1) Have you changed the brand of litter you use?
2) Do you keep the box clean? (In my parents case, they now have to clean it daily because the cat will not use it if its not 100% fresh and clean)
3) Have you changed the food you are feeding it?
4) Medical Issues (Urinary Tract Infection or Crystals)
One other thing, it could be stress. I believe you were in the area hit hard by tornado's. Animals are affected by stress and if there was alot of moving around because of it, it could just simply be them acting out. Or if people in the house are still edgy or stressed, for some reason animals can sense it and act out.

Our cat was doing this. She had arthritis pretty badly (she was 15), and the vet said it could be some kind of muscle control issue that she was losing sensation etc.

If litter behaviour suddenly changes without a reason, it can be a sign that something is wrong with your cat. Cats are creatures of habit and routine... If something causes that routine to break, something is amiss.
Cats also equate irritating trips to the letterbox as a problem with the litter itself rather than it being a problem with them. Cats with urinary tract infections commonly avoid using the litter box to urinate as they think it's the litter causing them the irritation. They're wrong.
Bring it to your vet's attention.

Is there anything different with the feces? (eaten something weird)
Is he acting any different otherwise? (lethargic, cracked out)
Has a change in the house happened (a move, or a new member to the family?) sometimes this is how they voice their displeasure with change.
Is he pooping in the same spot on the floor? Try moving the litter box there and see if he goes to a new spot.
My vet said that it's best to feed cats wet food because they sometimes don't get enough water in their diet by drinking and it's easier to digest.
Just a couple of ideas...

All over her food is the same food we've been using for a long time. We clean the litter box out 2-4 times a day because we have dogs that like to eat her feces. The only thing I did notice was it was pretty hard, and it happens to be right in front of the door where the a/c thing is in our apt and that had a draining issue not to long ago so the carpet there was a lil moist.

If it is an old litter box, my cat started doing that all of the sudden - I don't think she enjoyed the smell of the actual box. I ended up buying a new one, and it got a lot better - but she still ended up doing it. I changed the position of the litter box to the new spot she was frequenting, and slowly ended up moving it back.
She stopped.

It's a newer litter box it's about 3 months old. When I got home from work at 7am I checked the box and she peed in it but no poop yet. we put some citrus based carpet cleaner on the spot she was doing it because apparently cats cant stand citrus. I also read she could be constipated and cats wont use the box if they relate pain with the box. So I'm going to see if I can find high fiber food and mix it in with her food now

I am not sure about the citrus theory. Our cat likes to go to our closet ans shed on our clothes. Put lemon zest and orange peels in there but no luck.
