Canadians getting screwed out of something. The Canadian men's rowing pair were disqualified for crossing a lane, thus not getting a chance to be in the finals.
IMO, the ruling in this case was the right one - now they're just perpetuating the Canadians are whiners when things don't go our way stereotype (see Sale/Pelltier, Gretzky, Regibliati, Johnson etc).

Except that Sale/Pelltier and Regibliati were legitimately screwed.
Johnson is no different than any other doper from any other country.
Gretzky was using his rant as a motivational tool.
I didnt see this event, but if our rowers appeal is upheld, I'd hardly call it whining.

I'll totally agree on S/P, Rossy, Johnson, and Gretz - but it's just the perception out there.
We'll see what happens though in this case - it looks slim that anything will happen for these guys. Oh well.

I don't think so. Presumably you're referring to this quote from the article:
"If they try to assess whether the punishment fits the crime, whether they did it intentionally, whether [the Canadians] are competitive enough to be in, there's an outside chance – way outside – that FISA will entertain the idea of a seventh lane," said McBean.
But that was actually a comment that she made prior to this FISA ruling. I think now that FISA (whatever the hell that is) has made their decision, there's no more chances for appeal. But when you're competing at that level, how do you make a mistake like getting out of your lane? Ah well, we deserve bad karma now because of the GoldenPalace guy.
In regards to the athletes complaining, I actually don't think it's much of a Canadian thing--lots of other athletes from other nations have been making complaints throughout the games, but as Canadians, I think we're more sensitive to our athletes doing things that might be considered uncouth. Personally, I'm proud of athletes like Beckie Scott who speak out about what they perceive as injustices in the sport.

Good point, Octo. Is the reputation Calf is alluding to an international thing, or simply how we are viewing ourselves?

Not sure if it's international or not - just the way I perceive it. Maybe that's because it gets so much press here.

If I trained my entire life only to be DQed for something that was questionable I would whine, cry, complain, and do whatever I could to help my chances of getting the chance to go for the gold. I do feel bad for the guys, but I have heard worse whining these oOlympics on numerous occasions.

I don't understand why the Canadian rowers can even complain about getting DQ'd, they cut the South Africans off. If it was that they only got close to the other boat then fine, but they were basically in front of them at the finish (the canadians even knocked the number off the front of the other boat).
