anybody else pumped for this cd? I believe it has been six years since The Fragile came out so a new disc is long overdue. I also heard that Dave Grohl is drumming on this one, which is hopefully a good luck charm because Queens of the Stone Age- Songs for the Deaf was awesome. Their latest single "The hand that feeds" has been out for sometime and it is more rockin which I prefer as opposed to the slower depressing stuff (which is good too). Anyway I am rambling, i just want this cd NOW.

Meh, I was way more excited before I heard it (The NIN official site has a link to a streaming version of the whole album).

It's still better than 95% of the new rock coming out today, but it's no Downward Spiral.

Fotze -- Downward Spiral came out in November, 1994. And yes, Johnny Cash remade Hurt, and won a grammy for it IIRC. Not much of a story around it though.

JC remade nine inch nails? I just assumed he did the original. A completely eerie song either way. If JC covered their song that implores me to learn a little more.[/b][/quote]
Here's a streaming quicktime version of NIN's live video for Hurt. Pretty cool IMO.

Other than the fact that Trent Reznor has said that it is no longer his song because Johnny Cash made it his own.

Johnny Cashes remake of Hurt is one of the best remakes of all time. It's so rare that a remake can actually do the original justice or even be better.

Jimi Hendrix-All Along the Watchtower, is the other remake I would rate at the top

Should be interesting to hear some new NIN. It's been a long time. I hope Trent goes into a slightly different direction and experiments with some new sounds.
