Not going to lie, I clicked on the link just for the sake of seeing the guys picture anticipating seeing the next incarnation of Jabba the Hutt. Utterly blown away to see a guy who by the looks of it is pretty typically sized.

I wish I had genetics like him. Imagine how healthy he would be if he didn't eat all those.

Alot of it is Genetics. If your family has cholesterol issues, it is likely you will too even if you jog everyday and eat nothing but salad. If they do not have cholesterol problems, it is unlikely you will.

That's not true at all. Yes genetics does play a role, but everyone can avoid having cholesterol problems. Some are more likely to get it than others, but if you jog everyday and eat nothing but salads there is not a chance in hell you will have high cholesterol regardless of genetics.

I guess I should not have generalized so much. There are people out there who regardless of what/how much they eat/drink/exercise they will have cholesterol issues. There is also the reverse.
Eating foods high in saturated fats is a risk factor for the development of cholesterol problems, but not the only risk factor. Genetics actually plays a very significant role.
Regardless, I hope people do not take this story as rationalization for what they eat.

Obviously not the ideal choice of foods but he is only getting 1200 calories from two big macs a day. Which means he would still have a lot of calorie intake left for the day to stay in shape. What is going on inside his body is another story but you could eat McDonalds every day and still look healthy if you ate equal calories you burned. But then again I was expecting the same thing you were.

I agree with White Tiger. I am more disgusted by the fact that he ate the same thing every day, twice. If I eat at McDonalds twice in a row it would be pretty hard to go back for a third day, and I probably wouldn't eat the same thing off the menu.

The guy looks to be fairly tall, so his maintenance calorie intake is probably about 2500 calories.
A big mac only has about 600 calories in it. As long as he isn't stuffing his face the rest of the day, he isn't going to gain weight. If he exercises, he can afford to eat even more.
As for cholesterol, a lot of modern research shows that obesity is probably a larger contributing factor than dietary cholesterol.

Why would anyone actually count how many Big Macs they were eating for 39 years?

If you remember, he was featured in the doc Supersize me.
That man is a freak. If I ate 10 big macs, I would gain 10 pounds.
