Default Cordless electric mowers

Hope this ain't a fata, I did search the forums and there are tid bits of mower talk here and there.

I'm in the market to purchase a new lawn mower and in particular looking at buying a cordless electric and was wondering if anyone has advice on which makes or models have worked for them or which have been melons and to stay away.

I don't expect the electric mower to outperform a gas mower, but do wish to purchase something half decent between $300-$400.

Cheers!

I have the neuton, and it has cut my regular size yard fine for the past 2 seasons with no battery issues.

I did read online that it was a good choice, and that is one item that many cordless mower owners complained about was regarding the short battery life. The other concern was the bagging of grass clippings.

Thanks for the reply!

I live on a corner lot, my yard is bigger than most but by no means huge, when Home Depot had a swap program I traded my old pos gas mower in for a $100 rebate towards one of the Homelite mowers found here.

It sucked huge if I had to cut more than 3/4" off my grass I was screwed and it would die once I did the front yard, charge 4-6 hours them do the back. I have since used a Worx electric and it was a little better but I was still unimpressed. I have since recently bought a new Cub Cadet gas mower with electric start and it's great. Maybe my lawn is just too big I dunno.

I'm looking into cordless electrics myself, I'm sick of my gas mower even though it works well. Don't feel like bothering with gas, the noise, oil changes and maintenance. Amazon.com has extensive customer reviews for the Black & Decker, worth reading.

edit - The Toro is also worth looking at.

Maybe request a mod move this to the off-topic forum. It would possibly get more attention and replies over there. I think this forum is intended for people to sell or solicit items.
