You're either about 80 years old or about 15 years old if you think Nirvana sucks.

Nirvana is over-blown.
People treat them like they invented alternative music.
That Miley Cyrus video was pretty great though. Can you imagine all the teen girls scouring iTunes to find "Smells Like Teen Spirit" only to discover it's actually not by Hanna Montana?

Big difference in thinking they may be slightly overrated compared to they flat out suck.

Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, The Police (also Sting by himself), Genesis pre and post Peter Gabriel, and several others from that genre like The Who, Chilliwack etc.

Nirvana doesn't come close to any of the others because Cobain died too young, and while their music had some potential, songs like Come as you are and Smells like teen spirit weren't that good. If he didn't die, then maybe Nirvana might have become something good, but they are quite a bit overrated in my opinion.

They were and are hugely popular and hugely influential, both on the recording industry and on future bands.

I get that you don't like them, which is fine as were talking about something that's completely subjective, but I don't know how you can say they're overrated.

Oh, and

Haha, that's elite company. That's why rock & roll is so great though, there are SO MANY good artists, like 30 years worth... and then it all just kind of went to ####.

Nothing against Chilliwack but every other band mentioned is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You really don't see why?

Not particularly, but I'm no fan of classic rock...just like some people and country music, "it all sounds the same" to me

That is exactly what popped into my head as well. I couldn't remember the exact words though. Yes, I am kidding.

So a guy that killed himself when she was 18 months old is her inspiration?

Born - Nov 23/92
Died - Apr 5/94

Perhaps Kurt had a vision of the future.......at which point, I forgive him.

Miley's had the longest 15-minutes in history.....
