Default Fun with Air Cards

So a guy at work took a Bell Air Card when he went on holidays a couple of weeks ago. He said he was going to Kelowna. Well he did for a few days and then went to Mexico, where he racked up 200 minutes in one session on the air card, plus whatever smaller times too. The best thing was he didn't tell anyone he was going there, so there was no roaming plan on it.
The bill.... $24,000. lol

Cool story bro!

Just kidding. Welcome to my nightmare. I manage the cellular devices at my company and people constantly do this even after being told to inform us of travel. They don't care about the cost and there don't seem to be any discipline from their management.

I haven't seen anything close to $24K but a guy went to Belize and racked up a $3000 Blackberry bill.

The worst part is that they don't even care. They use company devices for personal use and then just shrug it off because they don't have to pay the bill.

They guy you work with is a grade A dou-che with no respect for anyone esle's property.

That is fine if he is a Manager or VP, but if he is just a worker ant, then he is a dou-che.

Why is d o u c h e removed? Did I miss something, is it now a sware word?

The owner of my company went on a trip to South Africa. He had someone get him a specific plan and air card to use specifically for the trip, and when he got there it wouldn't work. We got the run around (from Rogers) that it should have worked, but the card mush have come from older stock and had old firmware which wouldn't work.

We feel we did due diligence and did everything we could. We are still arguing the $6K bill which resulted.

My admin assistant racked up $2,000 in charges on her company BlackBerry from sending text picture messages. She got a new dog and sent pictures to all of her friends, with 20 people per text. She thought that would only count as one text because she only pushed send once, and didn't think she'd be charged since "the internet is free". You'd think she'd be really hot from that story, but she's not. I wish I was involved in her hiring, as then I wouldn't have to deal with her.

Oh yeah. It's a lot of pictures. She changes her desktop background to a different picture of her dog about every hour. I had to tell her I don't care about her dogs so she'd stop talking about them to me.

Get an unlocked iphone from Apple direct.

I go to the US 2-3 times a month, and with an unlocked iphone and a prepaid t-mobile sim card, I save thousands of dollars in roaming charges. When I get home I pop in my rogers sim, and carry on as per usual. I do the same thing in China or Australia when I'm there.

canadian roaming charges can lick me as far as I'm concerned.
