I'm a little embarrassed that after lurking so long and reaping the benefits of this site for hockey-talk and entertainment purposes, that my first post is rather self-serving. I was hoping to call on the community to check out a you tube video I made for a class here at the University of Lethbridge. I'd really appreciate the views and if you feel the urge to "like" it, even better! I apologise for the quality, end of semester deadlines didn't give me a second chance to reshoot it.
Regardless of the what ends up happening with the contest, just wanted to say thanks CP for making a site that I visit so much that it angers my girlfriend ("The Flames are out, how much news can there still be?" She doesn't get it; an obvious character flaw, but she is otherwise a very wonderful person ).
I just had a question for the youtube users out there (or people with general knowledge on the subject). Do views of embeded videos, like the one I posted above, count towards my total view count?
So I just got a mass email from my prof, and apparently he's only including the number of "likes" each video has to determine the winner. Sorry to have a 3:1 post ratio in my own thread, but in light of these events, I would like to extend an even bigger thanks TopChed for the DJRoomba "like"
So if you've been kind enough to view my video, I humbly ask one more favour, which would be to "like" it. And if you don't like it or are simply indifferent, perhaps you can hit the like button to show DJRoomba some more love....
Thanks, I thought it'd be a lot tougher to put together....but it wasn't bad. After getting the photos back it took about two hours to shoot all the frames.
And yeah, Redvan, the lighting is probably my biggest gripe. I just wanted to do a dry run to see how it looked, so I compiled it the night I got the photos back from the developer. Unfortunately, because the lighting is so bad in my house I had to use the flash which ruined a lot of the shots. I had planned on fixing up the exposure in photoshop but as the deadline got closer I ran into editing/encoding problems. This essentially turned the project in to a "just-hand-it-in" type thing. So I'd agree that the concept is okay, but the execution is lacking.
I cannot watch Youtube videos where I am, but I just wanted to say that this video is by far the best one on this particular subject or theme ever made.
Good job!

Kind of a tradition here to post a pic of your GF in your first thread.
I "liked" your video.

Ha! I'll see what I can do. She might end up blocking this site (she's smarter than me) if she finds out I'm putting up pictures of her on the internet
Watched, liked. I agree with the above comments. Well made, except for the lighting. If the glare from the photos disappeared then it would be even better. Good job!

Thank you. Luckily for me, I can surf internet sites where I am, and yours is by far the most authoritative voice on historically inaccurate viking helmet safety that I have ever read. From this day forward I shall be wary of all things brick v. plastic helmet thanks to your story.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me out so far. My class' competition closes Thursday morning, so I thought I'd bump this thread to see if I could squeeze out a little more support or the home stretch. But whatever happens I, just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has voted on the video. If you haven't and want to help me out, you can head here http: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSBuyhwlGpE and click the "like" button. Thanks again!
