Default Worst Spring in a long time?

While today looks to be finally sunny and nice, does anyone else get the feeling that this Spring has been the worst in a long time?

I remember a couple years ago, april rolled around and all the snow was gone (still had the odd snowfall), most of the roads were clear, days were hitting around the 10-15 mark....

What the hell is going on this year? Is this all due to La nina?

It snowed 61cm in March 2009. March 2010 was nice, but the last half of April and most of May sucked giant poo.

It just seems cold. -2 - +5 seems pretty chilly for end of March/April

I'm going to guess in the summer you are going to complain about how it is too hot, and back in the day it was a more reasonable temperature.

Meh. Spring starts later, winter starts later. I for one welcome our new seasonal overlords.

This is Calgary. The weather is never constant. It never has been and it never will be. You might have a 20 degree day in Feb (like family day 1995) or it might be -20 like family day this year. Last winter the weather was great after News Year Day, this year the weather sucked. Last year in July and August we saw 1 or 2 of 30 degree days? Summer of 2007 it was 30 degrees everyday for a month

Early May last year was a nightmare, if I recall. Snow, sleet, freezing temperatures. I remember spending a week in New York at the beginning of May where it was +27, humid, and sunny and coming back to this miserable spot.

Whenever I read a TylerSVT post, I think of the "TylerSVT, giving CP the HARD facts" post that someone else wrote.

As someone pointed out in another thread, Calgary gets more snow in March than any other month of the year.

It doesn't really seem worse than any other particular year TBH. I'm so used to Calgary weather now that I'd be surprised if it was actually balmy during March / April. Usually it takes until around middle of May for it to really warm up.

End of May was no walk in the park either.

May 29th of last year... Snow and lots of it!

It never fails, people will always think the weather is worse than it was before because they must complain about something. Who cares if it's dynamic, it must be the average all the time!

Since I got to Iceland the coldest day I've seen was around -10c, and most of the winter was hovering around 0c. Today its 4c.

I always enjoy the annual news report on CFCN on the Victoria Day weekend when they go to Kananaskis and interview the bewildered campers who don't understand how they got snowed on. IT HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY YEAR!!! The only ones surprised by it are you.

It doesn't really get that much warmer than that though, does it?
