Default At least 15 children shot in Rio

Shot at school by a man the only info CNN has.

CNN breaking news right now. No link yet other than cnn.com

I was not implying that this incident will be remembered, but that the continued perception of violent crime in Rio will continue because of stories like this.

I was in Rio in February. The perception world wide is that and that alone. I never once felt unsafe. There are crappy neighbourhoods in every city.

Brazilians shared a similar perception of the US. Remember a few years back when the DC sniper was loose? People in Rio thought Americans were crazy for going to shopping centres as they were liable to get shot. Everyone has seen City of God and assumes that Rio is a disaster area.
