Anyone here recently order with Dell?
Anyone here recently order a desktop from dell? If so how long was the delivery process. Mine was supposedly shipped out on the 5th, I figured it would likely arrive by tomorrow.
Just curious as I've had issues with purolator delivering before, and I'd like to get it for the weekend if it's possible. It will drive me nuts if I know that my new computer is sitting in the depot all weekend.

You should be able to get a Purolator tracking number via your Dell order status online. A link would have been provided in your order confirmation email.

Yeah the tracking number does nothing. It won't be updated until it gets to Calgary. Pointless really. It just shows that it's in transit in the U.S., which is what it has showed since Saturday. It will be updated once it's scanned in Calgary.

I've bought 2 laptops from Dell in 2010. Both took about 5 days to arrive from the date of order being placed....

Oh man....dell gave me a huge runaround a year or so back. They're lucky it was a good deal because that was the worst customer service experience i have ever had. the call center is located over-seas and the guy i was talking with refused to direct me to huis supervisor when i asked him to. They i promptly went over his head and contacted his supervisor, and his supervisor did not respond. Anyway, i like the product, but i had poor customer service experiences.
Anyways, i guess back to the point....it depends when you order it. I was about 3 weeks for mine when i bought mine, but I bought it during peak season. Since its slower now, i bet 5-7 business days would be a good estimate.

I ordered some stuff, not a desktop, on Tuesday and it would've been delivered yesterday if I was at home. Today it is sitting a depot and I can pick it up.

+1
had a similar experience with dell recently.
bought a TV through them, got told it would be delivered on a certain date, that date arrived, no TV, contacted them, they said it would be another 2 weeks. I waited the 2 weeks, got another email and was advised that they were out of stock.
Phoned Dell and then got the same kind of run around as the poster.

I've ordered from Dell a few times. For small things like routers or switches, it took 2 days after I placed the order for it to arrive. For my desktop, it took about a week and a half. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with how quick I get things from them. Haven't had a problem yet. *knock on wood*

Ordered a desktop computer about 2 months ago. We tracked the package online and from what I recall Purolator left us a voicemail the day before it was to be delivered.

Well it arrived... However I cant pick it up until monday...
What a joke. Basically I cancelled the delivery because I won't be home. So if I dont pick it up myself I wouldn't get it until tuesday. So annoying that its here at noon on friday and I can't pick it up until monday..

I ordered something yesterday afternoon, and they attempted a delivery this morning. That's pretty quick. I guess I can go pick it up tomorrow. Good thing Purolator is open on Saturday.
