TD Primmum.

Cheapest by a mile if you have experience, and a clean record.

^I go through TD for everything else insurance related, but managed to get about 10-15% lower with Jevco.

I think there is a big divide between older guys with experience, and younger guys. Jevco is typically for high risk/high rate. I was insuring Hayabusa's with collision for $625/year.

Jevco is most certainly not a high risk carrier. They are/were a specialty market for recreational vehicles. They were recently purchased by Intact Insurance though so call an Intact broker. Every carrier will have better rates for experienced drivers regardless of what type of vehicle you want to insure.

When I first started riding 20 years ago, up until about 5 or 6 years ago, Jevco was the only company that would take beginners, or people with terrible driving records. They were a facility market provider. They were the carrier of last resort, and you paid through the nose. That must have changed that at some point in time in the past 5 years or so. When I first started, they were the only place that would insure me. No regular market carrier would take me.

My premiums went from 580 with Jevco last year, to 509 with Intact this year, and that's with a not at fault claim.

It definitely did. They wouldn't touch me until I had both my class 6 and taken a training course. And they're pretty particular on bikes they won't touch.

hmm, well i have a lot of experiance riding bikes, but being that i lived in FL while having them i have never had my class 6 in AB before, so i have finished my written and now need to take the course. I have had a few people tell me to try Blue Circle

I'll try TD and Jevco and see what i can get for rates, perhaps cheaper for women? lol

Intact bought out Jevco last year and have really gotten aggressive in the motorcycle market for pricing and coverage offerings. Most bikes can be insured with them but if not they also own Nordic so between the different entities there is likely not many bikes out there that they can't/won't insure.

TD, State Farm, All State etc. are fussy on which bikes/riders they will insure and as a result refer many risks away to Intact/Jevco/Nordic. Try them all though.

Neither will insure you until you have your class 6.
