Headed to McMahon

Coming in from Red Deer for the game today. Whats the best way of getting to the stadium. Park and ride the train from the zoo over to the stadium or will we be able to park somewhere over on the west side of McMahon, in the residential area?

park and ride. Parking in the residential area will require a pass and guarantee the ticket people will be out in full force today like Grey Cup.

I haven't lived in that area for a while now, but it was a very regimented procedure on game days so I can't see it changing.

I was wondering the same thing. There isn't any parking at Mcmahon?

If you park at the zoo or anywhere else on the northeast line, you'll have to transfer trains downtown to get to McMahon and the same thing to get back in the evening. Get off at a downtown platform (Olympic Plaza, 1st Street, 4th Street or 7th Street) and get on a train with "Crowfoot" as the destination sign. It should be the next train. On the way back, do the same thing, get off downtown, and get on a train with a "McKnight" destination sign.

If you want to avoid the transfer and also shorten your trip, you can park along the northwest line. From Deerfoot south, take Stoney Trail westbound to Crowchild, go eastbound and park at either Crowfoot, Dalhousie, or Brentwood, then take the train to the stadium from there. Get on a train with a "Somerset" destination sign.

If you don't want to take the train, parking in a nearby residential area is another option, but you could have a bit of a hike as those areas will probably be pretty packed since parking will be very limited at the stadium itself and will basically be a non-option for most people.

Oh also, for those that have never taken the train or don't do so often, the stop to get off at to get to the stadium is Banff Trail. It should be pretty apparent though since everyone with their jerseys and warm clothes will be getting off there.

With no parking at McMahon, the street parking around the stadium is going to be really tough to find. The next closest parking lot would be the university, and that will be very full as well.

If it was me, I'd park in the heated city parkade downtown on 9th Ave and 5th SW. Should be cheap (even free?) because of it being Sunday.

From there, the C-train is only two blocks north, and you won't have to switch trains to get to the McMahon exit (Banff Trail) on the Crowfoot train.

Can't you park downtown on a sunday for free and just hop on a train instead of having to transfer? I thought parking was free on a sunday downtown? Why park at the zoo?

When heading to stamps game we always park by the school at kingston street and 13th ave. Theres a lot of 2 hour parking there and I believe even some unlimited.

It's Sunday. Park anywhere downtown and hop on the train. Or else just park 'n ride from Brentwood, Crowfoot, Dalhousie.

Current U of C students: Is the "New" Den or any other drinking establishment open Sunday?

Looks like if one is driving, its best to get up in the area early to avoid the traffic and crowds and get ok parking...but then where to kill a couple hours?

Moose McGuires on the west side, and Nick's on the East, will be jammed...just thinking of other options that won't require a train ride in or out.

When I go to Stamps games, I usually park at the Arts Parkade at the University. It's usually not too bad getting in and out of, although, if it's full, it can back up.
