Default Open mic / Live Music

Hey All

I just did a search but couldnt find anything in detail.

Im trying to get used to playing on stage and was just wondering what kind of places offer a chance to play an acoustic set/open mic... more of an unplugged type of setting. I played a few times at Mikeys on Wednesdays and even heard about Koi. Are there any other kind of places out there? It doesnt matter if its a dead atmosphere, just really need to get rid of the ol stage fright.....

Thanks!

busker license? Not many busker's in Calgary... Granted it pretty cold right now, but would allow you to play in front of people.

Try the Yardhouse on 17th. Lots of places on 17th do stuff like that. Bob The Fish is another one. Ceili's Irish Pub on 8th.

I don't know where in the city you are, but a guy I know hosts open mic night at a bar called Denim in Queensland in the SE. I've never seen it very busy there, so that might be a good place to try if you're not used to performing in front of people.
