So stupid me, I didn't realize there were handicap street parking spots in downtown. All I looked at was the 2 hr parking sign. Now I've got a $150 parking ticket to pay.
Is there is any way I can reduce this ticket?

Seriously, it wasn't like I knew it was a handi-spot and I was just running in for a second (although I was parked for under 5 minutes). It was an honest mistake.
If you can't handle looking around when parking, how can you handle driving? There is so much more to look at when driving.
Whatever. I hope you get raked over the coals when you go see a judge. In fact, do fight the ticket, I want to hear about what happens.

Just pay up and move on. Honest mistake, but I could be much worse if you go in front of the courts and have to face the judge. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

It's a $200 ticket. That's a lot of money for some poeple.
That's the other thing. I've never gone into a court room before. (I don't get many tickets - lol). What is it like?
It's scary, there are criminals (of which you are now one) everywhere.

It's a real bitch. There's the initial wait where you line up to see some clerk/lawyer girl where she puts your name down on the sheet. Essentially first come first serve, and you tell her what the case is and she'll tell you if you have a chance. I told her my situation and she said, did you park over time? etc... then you don't have a case. So I essentially wasted a few hours. It can be very intimidating since the Judge will eventually call you if you want to dispute it and there'll be a packed court room full of people. And in mine, there were convicted felons in jump suits and in full chains. They had to go through all of them before they go to the parking tickets so really depends how busy they are.

Sure but "honest mistake" is not a solid defense. Besides often you need to take a half day off work for the process which you have to factor in If that affects your bottom line.
They should institute these sorts of fines for the people who use handicap washrooms as well.
