Default Fox News: "Stuff Is Just Made Up”

Really, who woulda thunk?

Asked what most viewers and observers of Fox News would be surprised to learn about the controversial cable channel, a former insider from the world of Rupert Murdoch was quick with a response: “I don’t think people would believe it’s as concocted as it is; that stuff is just made up.”

You know you're a "dumb American" when you can't debate Fox News with out uttering the phrase "fair and balanced".

This fellow thinks that the CRTC is changing the rules so that Canadian broadcasters can now knowingly lie.

http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/show...59#post1220159

quote/ The current rule states that a broadcaster “shall not broadcast any false or misleading news.”

I read that as - A broadcaster cannot report that the moon is made of cheese. They know that this is false.

The changed wording says that a broadcaster cannot report news that "the licensee knows is false or misleading and that endangers or is likely to endanger the lives, health or safety of the public.”

I read that as - A broadcaster can report that the moon is made of cheese. They know that it is false, but it is not something that "endangers or is likely to endanger the lives, health or safety of the public.” __________________

I think the point is that at least Huff Po is dealing in reality. Fox News just makes #### up in an effort to rile up mouth breathers everywhere.

Mouthbreathers don't like Huffpo as it simply reports what they do more often than other media outlets.

So they asked people who dont watch Fox News "observers" to comment. thats like asking me to comment on the Huffington Post or Toronto Star or Al Jazeera

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Matters_for_America
Media Matters for America (MMfA) is a progressive media watchdog group which describes itself as "dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media."

So because they dont like conservatives they only monitor conservative media?

I would like to see what "mis-information" they are talking about. Why does everyone confuse the talk-show opinionated aspect of Fox News (Beck, Hannity, Oreily) which centers around new topics with the actual news the channel reports. Just because they are on a channel called FOX NEWS doesnt mean that everything on the channel is 100% news with no opinions.

History Channel, Discovery Channel - not all programs on those networks are 100% History or Discovery in nature.
