Default Moving cross country

I don't really have a set destination or deadline, but I am going to be moving likely to Ottawa or Toronto in a few months. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on shipping methods (van/train) for various quantities of stuff (price tag will determine how much stuff I bring)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just recently moved from BC to Toronto with my wife. We shipped our stuff by van (Atlas). It was about $6,000 for ~4,000 lbs, but we also had storage service for a month after the move.

We probably got rid of about half our things before moving, because when you consider how much it costs to ship stuff and how old or worn some of things are, you are better off just selling it and buying new things after the move.
