NW Ctrain Leg down (All Clear now)
Car vs. Ctrain just south of the Bow River on 4th ave; and the car did not win.
I can see it from my office- quite possibly a fatality. If your train will stop at Sunnyside it might be worth walking in from there.

Transit just said they are setting up shuttle buses, so ken is probably right about a serious or fatality.

Just counted- 10 police cars; 3 transit police vehicles, 3 fire trucks, an ambulance (which didn't take anybody away) and a CSI vehicel.
10 Firemen are now manually moving the car off the tracks now.

And now they brought out steps to let people off the parked Ctrain cars.

Looks like trains are heading Northbound, slowly. Don't know if Southbound trains are coming into the downtown area from the NW.

Yeah, just saw a train go north, now a tow truck is blocking the tracks to pick up the wrecked vehicle.

Another NB train with passengers, and a SB train also with a few passengers.

Just south of the river? How damn fast could the train be going at that point?
Was it coming into Downtown or leaving?

Apparently it was SB. So if it was coming over the bridge towards a green light; and a driver was ignoring the "no right turn on red" signs.........
(I'm just guessing by the layout of the vehicles.)

Hopefully everyone is okay.
I knew something must have been up when I was heading east along 7th Avenue in a 202 train and all the trains were bunched up with the westbound 201 trains displaying "City Centre."

I was wondering what the hell was going on this morning. Edmonton Trail was backed up past 20th Ave, so I cut over to 10th Street, only to find that it was starting to back up around the south end of the SAIT campus.
That one accident seriously buggered all southbound traffic into the core.

Me and 3000+ other people got stuck in the NW because of this idiot. Screw the SE leg, put the C-train underground.

Cain said it appears the driver of the vehicle may have misjudged stopping distance due to the slippery road conditions.

Even still this accident may have occurred since the c-train may be at grade at that intersection still.

Either get out your checquebook to foot the bill or convince everyone that a $10 C train fare is worth the cost.

How about screw the idiot instead? Throw him in an ambulance (if necessary), tow the debris off of the track, and get people moving again. We'll never be able to eliminate all at-grade crossings with the c-train, nor can we eliminate the idiots. We just need to find a way to make their idiocy have less of an impact on the commuters.

We should start charging like a regular big city. People who take the train farther pays more.
Stupid city planners needs to stop building our cities out, and should build them up instead.
I think Edmonton and Calgary are have the largest area space for metro city in the world.

If we did that, then people would have to pay for parking! OMG!!!
