I know browna got some stuff.
I figured it was you, you dumb "puck".

Safeway is going to build it that complex...thats a dead Sport Chek, but the original one in Calgary/Canada.

I recall getting first hockey equipment there 21 year ago...the only sports store really like that, so it was a cross down drive, but worth it.

Yes, I got a pair of Hespellars for 30$, off from around 80$. Otherwise, some 120$ gloves on for 65$, and everything else 30% off.

Another Safeway?

Lord, they have one just down the road on either side: to the west you have one just on other side of Sarcee and to the east, Marda Loop.

How long is the sale on for? I'm in the market for an exercize bike, and if I can get it for 50% off, it may be worth it getting it at Sports Chek...

Yes, thanks for the heads up! Got some much needed stuff there.

Calculoso, the sale is on tomorrow as well. I'm not sure if it's extended into next week. Might as well drop in anyway, they got some really good deals. I'm probably going back tomorrow for some more.

Nice thread. I went in today and picked up my son some $60 baseball cleats for $10, and I grabbed some $100 Nike cross-trainers for myself for $40.

Great for me, it'd be the closest Safeway to me, no more fighting with soccer moms for parking at Westhills.

I live right behind the place, I really against the idea of it being a safeway. There are like 4 safeways within 5 min. of my apartment, I don't drive so sometimes it's a pain to lug $100+ worth of groceries home but still would rather it be a sportschek than a safeway. I've been shopping there for like 20 years, I"m really going to miss it now I have to goto play it again sports or sportsmart up in westhills. My only other options are to bus it to chinook or somewhere like that, this sux

I say they should open up a SportChek at Westhills right next to SportsMart....imagine the competition...and the savings

Seeing how the Forzani group owns both of those chains, I don't see that happening.

I got Gretzky's autograph at a signing there in the 80's. I think at one time it was a Safeway or something like that before it was Sport Chek.

I remember getting Vladislav Tretiak's autograph there. I think it was during the 88 Olympics.

That place was the first huge sports store.....

Did they move it or did it just go out of business?

I'm pretty sure that the Richmond Road Sport Chek staff are being moved to the new Deerfoot Meadows location that will open soon.
