Default Hockey pool question

My pool is a group based one (20 groups of 5 players each) and it is trade time. I was wondering what the best way to conduct the trades would be.

Some groups are position specific, like goalies, d-men, rookies, etc... Should a trade have to be for a player in the same position? Should it be even stickier and force trades to be within that grouping?

Or should the newly acquired players only be chosen from players that weren't on the sheet at all? That would be kind of cool, then we could give everyone a unique player and the last person overall would get the best unique pick. But then again, the points totals for unpicked players is probably so similar, it wouldn't be a significant change.

Sorry if this isn't made very clear. It's early and frustrating.

Isn't this a question you should be asking the people in your pool? Or did they all decide that CP is the governing body for your pool?

if you had to pick players originally based on position groups, then the trade should be equal (ie defence for defence). if you were allowed to draft any player originally, I would say you should be able to trade for any player available. if you had to pick from a list of players, the trade should be from those players available on the list.
I would do the trades like a draft, bottom person in the standings gets the first rights to trade
not sure if i understand your situation clearly, but has HD mentioned, its your pool, whatever sounds fair for everyone and fun, do it. or come up with 2 or 3 ways of doing the trades, then everyone in your pool vote or just make a suggestion and see if anyone has major problems with it

It's a strange hockey pool in that most of them aren't really hardcore fans; it's more just like a fun work thing. We are just collectively wondering what are options are.
