Another suicide attack from what I'm reading. Why is it so hard to stamp out extremists and the religious structures that support them?

As more and more chokepoints are created in airports due to mostly unnecessary security precautions, we'll see attacks shift from the airplanes to airports. I think this is a sign of things to come.

One of the witnesses describes it as " severed legs flying everywhere ". Was this really the best way to describe it...

God bless everyone involved!!!

Then i fully support full body scans to come within 100 yards of an airport. In all seriousness, I would like to see security beefed up just to get inside the airport or within its area.

Then the attackers will just go after the scan points. Don't people get it? Once suicide bombers get within 100 yards of an airport, it's all over anyway.

While its a little early to conclude that this has a religious element, the Russians over the last few years have created a lot of enemies especially among Chechan rebels.

I think there should be criminal charges against families that encourage their kids or relatives that martyrdom is the great path to heaven.

We all know that its the poor stupid sons of b$tches with little value to these terrorist organizations that strap on bomb vests. There needs to be a better job of tracking down and a$$killing the planning cells and recruiting cells.

Without this imaginary belief that a religious God exists more than likely stupid crap like this would never happen near as often.

This has Muhammad written all over it.

It could be either or. The Russian war in Chechnya (sp?) created a really angry underground organization thats shown that they're willing to die if they even take one single Russian with them.

But Russia is literally surrounded by Muslim nations and from my understanding have a fairly large Muslim population that have been largely marginalized and seen the Russian Security Forces hammer down their leaders.

Very sad news indeed. A sad world we live in.....

Has anyone claimed responsibility for this yet?

I just don't see how we can ever put enough security measures in place to stop these people. Sure right now they are targetting airports. If we put scanners or other security measures in place for anyone entering an airport the terrorists will just move to other targets.

Think of all the places they can potentially hit where there are hundreds if not thousands of people gathered. Festivals, Train stations, Shopping malls, office buildings, concerts, sporting events etc....I know some of these targets have already been hit obviously. If these terrorists want to kill people they will find a way. There is just no way we can provide enough security to completely stop them.

Is this just going to be a new reality we are going to have to live in fear of?

Chechens, Dagestani, Igushetians.... Could be any one of them. Armenians have no love for Russians either, although I don't know if any would be suicide bombers.

I don't know if I buy this logic, even without god we'd still have actions like this for other reasons.

And without religion and the fear of punishment in the afterlife for example, there would be just as many or more politisized bombings because peopel would want ot achieve their aims with no fear of suppossed punishment for their fatal acts.

No matter what people say these terrorist bombings are done to achieve a political aim and not a religious aim, the religion aspect is pretty much camoflage.
