Default Cowboys & Aliens - Oh. Hell. Yes.

This movie needs its own thread. All the ingredients for guys movie of the year.

Based off a 2006 graphic novel by Fred Van Lente.

Release date is July 29, 2011.

And for good measure...

This movie will either rock or be the complete suck.

Looks pretty entertaining. Olivia Wilde is hot. Hopefully the aliens look like her.

Jon Favreau, Ron Howard, Steven Speilberg, Daniel Craig, and Harrison Ford. surely that has to be enough to counteract the source material

Agreed.

The wife and I went to the movies tonight and this was one of the trailers. After it was done and there was silence for a few seconds you could hear some awkward laughter........like people thought it was a joke or something. Even the wife leaned over and said "Spielberg is part of that movie?".

It looks kind of terrible, but I guess we'll see.

I don't know why that's so surprising. He has also produced the Transformer- and MIB-movies.

And honestly I think this is why it will do so well.. people will go see it because of the names, or because a friend drags them to it, with very low expectations. They can't wait to laugh at how bad it is and trash it to their friends later that night via facebook... and when expectations are that low, they get blown away.

I have read the comics, the story is solid. It is worth a shot.

Looks like a fun, summer popcorn flick--but with Harrison Ford, so it moves up the list.

Seriously, Can nerds please stop calling comic books "graphic novels"? I don't refer to myself as a "sanitation engineer" - I'm the janitor!
