First extended trailer got released today. Had to wonder if I'm alone in feeling some excitement towards the films release? Granted the 2nd and 3rd additions of the trilogy were not strong, but the first Scream has to go down as one of my favourite "scary movies." Didn't take itself to seriously, had enough suspense and drama to keep me interested annddd managed to poke fun at the genre itself. First review came out this week after a screening in Pittsburgh and was very popular.
"It was phenomenal! What can I say.
I was the first in line, and my friend and I waited in the line for about an hour and a half. They let a bunch of ethnic minorities in first, but once we got in, the excitement hit.
This outshines the 3rd one easily.
Definitely the bloodiest of all of them, but I feel like they’ll edit some of it down. An unrated DVD would be nice to have though.
The opening scene was hilarious and brutal.
Definitely a lot of great Williamson writing"

Scream was one of my favorite "Scary Movies" as well. I loved that movie. I thought Scream 2 was decent and they should have stopped making it there. I thought Scream 3 sucked big time.
I'm really excited for this one. Not a big slasher movie guy, but I enjoyed the first one. The second and third became what the first was poking fun at.
I still think the opening scene of Scream(the Drew Barrymore scene) is one of the creepiest scenes of any horror movie of the last 20 years. You knew it wasn't gonna end good for her and the guy was just torturing her, it was pretty intense.
Scream was easily the best of the trilogy as the second and third were just quick money grabs, but I would never call it a classic "scary movie".
It was funny and had me entertained throughout. The Robert Englund cameo was also great.
I will see Scream 4, but won't go in expecting much.
Agreed with most of the sentiments. Both Scream. and Scream 2 were well done slasher flicks. The third one kind of pissed me off, as Cotton never should of been killed off; also the whole "brother as the killer" storyline sucked.
I really hope Scream 4 won't turn out like Halloween Resurrection, where the only reason they brought back Jamie Lee Curtis was to kill her off, so they could start the franchise anew.
Yeah, Scream was a classic for me growing up in the 90's. Anyone else enjoy Scary Movie 1 because of the Scream parody. All the other Scary Movies in my opinon were crap but I really liked the first movie and how they made it.
Like most people I will be looking forward to Scream 4, but my expectations wont be high.
There was a time when I could say that Scream was my favourite movie of all time. My tastes have changed, but when I saw the Bluray pack with the first 3 movies for around $20... I almost wet myself.
It's an amazing play on previous slashers, while taking itself seriously as a slasher flick. 2 and 3 degraded on the series, but it is still one of the better, funnier, suspenseful 'horror' films of our time.
I will see 4 in theaters easily. I've seen all the others on the big screen, even seeing the original at a midnight showing years after it was on video.
Not a spoiler, but...
Spoiler!
If it's a 'reboot' like some of the trailers suggest, even with some original characters... Am I the only one who thinks Sindey dies?
I have now decided that I will also not be searching for or spending any of my free time online looking at anything Scream 4 related, as the entire IMDB message board is full of spoilers referencing who the killer is and so on.
Courtney Cox said that a Scream 5 and Scream 6 have been agreed to but wouldn't say one way or another if she will be in it or not.
I think they have to kill off one of Gale, Dewey or Sidney at a minimum in this movie. Ideally, they would kill of Dewey this time, then Gale in 5, then Sidney in 6.
But I think they dragged it on too long. If they were going to have 4 of these movies, they should have left 1 how it was, killed Dewey in 2, Gale in 3 and Sidney in 4.
