Good game by the Jays today to down the Bosox.

Highlights:

Back to back to back shots early in the game by Wells, Koskie, and Hillebrand (the latter two’s first as Jays).

Sox come back to tie it in the 6th. Jays retake the lead in the 7th and then bust it open in the bottom of the 8th with 6 runs highlighted by a Greg Zaun Grand Slam.

Jays 3-2 now. Not too shabby.

Sox played w/o Johnny Damon who scratched himself last night catching a ball up against the Jays fancy new scoreboards in the gaps.

Scratched? That's seven stiches or something for Damon.

Good game from the Jays. As usual, there was some tension when Ortiz made it close and Boston eventually tied it, but they bounced back and it was a fun game to watch today.

Hudson is struggling BIG TIME at the plate, but made a couple of nice plays today at second base.

Good day to be a Jays fan today!

One thing about the Jays so far this young season...........their games are all pretty exciting to watch.

So far, lots of pop from a team that wasn't supposed to have much.

My only beef is with Scott Schoeneweis............man that guy makes me nervous when he's out there.

My beef is less with him and moreso with the fact that he's the only left they can bring in from the pen. Our bullpen definately needs more balance. One southpaw just isn't good enough.

Fat man Wells is done like dinner. Good to see Koskie do well at the dish. Doesn't look like Halliday was great today, how'd he look? Didn't see the game.

Actually he had very good stuff today I thought. Sox scratched out a run early in the game but Halliday dominated for most of the innings.

However he made a mistake and pitched one down the pipe to BIG David Ortiz and Ortiz made him pay. Hit a 3 run shot to DEEP center off the bank of windows.

So overall Halliday looked good but made a mistake to the wrong hitter.

Actually Wells also looked good at times. He had the 3 homers in a row but a part from that stretch it was a quality start. His curve ball was nasty and as usual he had good control. He looked downright p*ssED when he got the hook and sure enough the shmo they brought into replace him instantly gave up the go ahead run.

Boomer ain't gonna dominate hitters anymore but he is such a smart pitcher. Ideally suited as a #2 or #3 spot in a rotation - he's too high in the Sox rotation right now and I'm not sure how Schilling is gonna be when he comes back. Sox could have starting pitching problems.

Well is one of the fastest Jays, plays the most athletic OF position (probably 3rd most behind 2B and SS). I know he looks big, but I think thats really a deceptive size.

Totally agree Jiri.

I had no idea they only had one lefty until they said so on the broadcast today. That really blew me away, I thought all teams would carry at least two.

Riccardi said before the season they had some extra money to play with, hopefully he uses that for some pitching help.......sooner rather than later.

no worries. Gave me a good laugh.

VW though is an interesting guy. He definately looks like he carries around a bit of extra weight but he is clearly one of the fastest Jays. Not suggesting he should drop weight as I think he would lose some of his power.
