Question Things To Do In Seattle?

For Christmas, my family surprised me with a trip to Seattle this February to see a concert that I've been dying to go to. Apparently the flight dates are flexible, so I was considering maybe staying for a couple more days, depending on what there is to do.

Unfortunately I'm not 21 yet, so bars and clubs probably won't work. Haha. But I'm open to any and all suggestions of fun things to do/see while I'm down there!

Thanks!

If you're a music lover, the EMP is a must.

Sit in a Starbucks and stare at a starbucks across the street. It's the experience of a lifetime.

In the neighborhood of Freemont (which is totally worth checking out, it's kinda arty and bohemian, cool independent stores and etc.) one can find a fourteen foot tall statue of Vladimir Illyich Lenin, located in front of a Taco Del Mar. It's not to be missed.

2nd for Pike Place, Boeing and Fremont. Best little sandwich shop ever in Fremont http://www.baguettebox.com/

Shopping, my favorite place is Bellevue Square. Remember, show your Alberta ID to avoid sales tax.

Visit Seattle Coffee Works which is down by Pike Market, go and see both Safeco and Qwest stadiums, andjust wander around downtown. I love Seattle, and am going back again this summer.

It's an interesting story about why it's there, and you can take a tour - which is pretty interesting, but it's not really an underground city.

In the early days of the city, there were problems with flooding in the low levels of the city, and it got even worse with the introduction of indoor plumbing. Eventually, the city decided that the best solution was to build up the street levels of the lower part of the city, which effectively buried the first floor (or more) of the businesses that were in the area. Over the years, these lower levels were forgotten about until a preservation effort brought it to the public's attention and the tours were eventually started.

I'm with MRC on Bellevue in general. Cool little area with lot's of good restaurants, shopping , hotels etc and within easy commuting distance of downtown Seattle. You are just across the lake and can easily head south to Portland or north to the Outlet malls from there. Best and most comfortable movie theatre I have ever been in is the AMC in Bellevue just across from Bellevue Square. Leather reclining seats with as much space as an aisle in front of your legs. Awesome. Then there is PF Changs - bistro style Chinese food ....Mmmmmmm! Maggianos isn't bad either but more of a chain like restuarant. The restaurant across the street fromn the Westin does the most amazing crab cakes for lunch - full of chopped crab meat, none of this paste nonsense and very reasonable for lunch. The concierge at the Hyatt where we stay has great tips and places to visit. You tell them your price range and they will reccomend the best value for the money in the region.

if you like sushi, check out Umi Sake House. If you like aviation Boeing in Everett is a must see! You may also be able to see an aircraft carrier in Everett if it is at the base.

Directly connected to the EMP is the Science Fiction Museum - neat to see if you are into that sort of thing. I think they have a Battlestar Galactica Exhibit right now as well.

One is wide body and the other is narrow body. Unfortunately, in the 9 years since I last worked for the company, I have forgotten which is which.

757 (no longer in production) and 737 and the Dreamliner would be at the narrow body factory.

747, 777 and 767 at the other.

Just went in September, and will vouch for Pike Place Market, never one for shopping and mulling around, but could have spent all four days down there. Just an amazing atmosphere, and had us coming back each day for bits at a time.
Just walk downtown, an amazing city and will be heading back ASAP as some have already stated.
