Default Tony Proudfoot

The funeral for Tony Proudfoot was held today. For anyone not knowing, he was a star defensive back for the Als in the 70's, then moved on into teaching and broadcasting. He was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in 2007. He then made it his mission to raise awareness for the disease while penning several articles in The Montreal Gazette describing his progression, or lack thereof. A sad but inspiring story of a disease with no cure or known cause.

Here are his articles from the Gazette in order.

May 2007

Dec 2008

Dec 2009

May 2010

Dec 2010

Final Posthumous Article

Charles Adler devoted a lot of time to Proudfoot's story a few days ago. Lots of funny stories. A life well-lived even as it was short.
