I get he's only 16, but there is a ton of forwards on that list who he has outproduced at the same levels on multiple occasions. Not just the WHL, but also at international events like U17's and U18's.
Even his own team mate Lindstrom on the Tigers.

Malcolm Spence being the only 2025 draft eligible skater is also interesting.
Going over Misa, Martone, and McQueen who are in general higher ranked in the early 2025 draft rankings.
edit: woah also Vincent Collard is 2025 draft eligible... he is a surprise
edit 2: I am blind Martone is on the list

I think Parekh is a lock, Morin will have to play his way in.

Too many 'Carters' and anyone named 'Quinton' should just be automatically ruled out.

I was hoping Basha would get an invite, but after looking at that stacked list of forwards I can see why he might've been left off.
He could theoretically catch fire in the first half of next season and get an invite still, right?

Parekh is as much of a lock as there could possibly be. Morin probably has the leg up for the 3LD spot after Dickinson and Molendyk.

Hoping Morin has a big year. I think he will need to have a hot start to get that third LD spot. Does anyone know if Moncton is expected to be good this year? Any chance he gets traded to a contender?
On that note did Gridin actually end up getting traded to Rimouski? I can’t find anything on it… would be cool to see them both on a stacked Memorial Cup host team.

Morin's drop in stats has likely more to do with his injuries throughout the season than with the team in front of him. No matter where he plays this season, I fully expect him to be among the top scoring defenders in the league if he can stay healthy.

Would Gridin have made the Russian team (if there was one)?
The Canadian team does look deep but I'm still a bit surprised that Basha didn't make the tryout camp. Seems like a perfect utility bottom 6 forward.
Do the Flames have any other prospects projected to be in this tournament? What are Morin's chances of cracking Canada's top 6?

Guessing it isn't needed.
Every parent, agent, etc around any of these young athletes is likely bringing this up constantly to all the elite players.

this for sure.
My kid was Drafted to CHL this year, and at every provincial, HC, CHL event they attend there is a session they attend about it. We talk to him about it all the time too.
my son has 2 really good friends attending camps this summer one U18 that he trains with just about every day and one U17 and he has skated against a lot of these kids at various things over the years. Its pretty cool.

Molendyk, Bonk, Dickenson, Yakemchuk and Parekh seem to be the locks no?
