2019 & 2020 NCAA Football Thread
The 2019 NCAA football season is here. The Oregon vs Auburn game tonight should be a good one.

With Tennessee about to lose by two TDs to a Sun Belt team, remember, they fired its former AD when they were hours away from hiring Mike Leach.

Ryan Leaf was hired by ESPN and he was in Tennessee to call his first game:

Pretty amazing photo considering the paths they took after being drafted 1-2 over 20 years ago...

Haha Florida State, and Haha mighty SEC. Louisville actually looked better than advertised last night against Notre Dame. Jalen Hurts sets a new Oklahoma record in his first game but feels he can do better. Not a bad way to follow up Kyler Murray and Baker Mayfield.
And it's only week one so way too early to get ahead of ourselves. But it's fun to over-react to everything!!
Week 2 has some promising match ups I'm looking forward to. LSU-Texas and Clemson- Texas A&M both are intriguing to me. Trevor Lawrence looked pretty average last week, he will need to step it up this week.

Army is in double OT against Michigan. On Fox.
And it’s over just as I type that.

Another 9-3 season with blowout losses to actual top 10 teams looms for Michigan. Honestly blown away that Dylan didn’t even get a shot during that game, hopeful they make the switch during the off week. Patterson looks like he’s never run this system and it’s supposed to be his forte.

Army - Michigan turned into a great game which I had suspected it might. Army get's a ton of credit with what they are doing and how competitive they are given their handicap when it comes to recruiting. Last year they took Oklahoma to OT, this year it's Michigan.
Clemson - Texas A&M didn't turn out to be the game I thought it would be. Good think I didn't spend the afternoon watching although I did listen on the radio. I wasn't sold on Clemson last week after a pretty ho-hum game. I'm sold on their defence now, they looked very good considering last year's starting D line is all in the NFL now. Their offence still looks a little off however.
Game of the week was easily LSU-Texas. Turned out to be way more entertaining than most people assumed, almost like a Big 12 game. LSU looks like they could be the real deal this year, they put on an offensive clinic against a Texas team that also knows how to put up points. This one was was fun to watch.

Could have been my television (although I doubt it), but the sound mixing on ABC for the game was horrible: way too much crowd noise and you could barely hear the announcers. It is like Herbstreit el al. are speaking with gas masks on, while all of the microphones are a few rows up from the 20 and 40 yard lines.
It was like this last year too, and it makes the games on ABC nearly unwatchable.

I would pay extra to watch a game that drowns out Herbstreit with literally anything. You’re exceptionally lucky and I don’t understand why you dislike this blessing you’ve been given.

In the first 2 minutes and 30 seconds OU qb Jalen Hurts has 99 yds rushing and a TD
UCLA may want to adjust something on defense.

Ugly injury for Florida Feleipe Franks. ESPN wouldn’t show the replay.

Only issue I see with this is now teams have seen Tulane fake a play on a kneel down formation. When they line up to do it again (kneel down) teams are going to come hard. The O linemen better be ready and the QB should expect to get drilled. Nice play and they caught Houston asleep but there is also a downside to this - they have potentially put their players at risk.
But this is why I love college ball and loath the NFL. You never know what you are going to see, anything can happen at any time.

USC’s backup got killed so they’re on their third stringer now. This game against the Utes is good and nasty, worth watching.

LOL @ Reggie Bush dapping up a USC RB after a late game score despite being permanently banned from the USC sidelines or associating with anyone from the athletic program. LOL NCAA

Tough loss for the PAC 12, Utah was probably the last hope they had for a playoff team. Still a long season but a lot of stars need to align now for them to place a team.
