Went looking for Rik Emmitt, left satisfied. A bit surprised by a few of the choices, not that they are there, just that these lists tend to skew to the pretentious side; but can't really argue with the players I recognize.

Healey should be #1 and Lifeson #2 IMO, but otherwise good list.

Gotta say, Don Ross should be top 5. Extremely innovative, brought percussive fingerstyle to a whole new level, and a great songwriter too. But I'm partial to acoustic fingerstyle guitar...

Me to, Colin James is just a natural for the list, the guy is flat out amazing and makes my jaw drop and my head explode whenever I see him.
Emmitt really should be top 5, the guy is flat out one of the best guitar players on the planet.

Always a shame when they miss Devin Townsend, even if you hate the music he just might be an (evil) genius. On a side note, this is a good chance to watch the unbelievable Gene Hoglan, one of the greatest drummers ever:

I guess for the first time ever Alex Lifeson isn't being underrated. But yeah I mean pretty obvious choice for #1. My question is where is Chad Kroeger? Do you really think writing basic power chord riffs over and over again is easy?

came to post this. Devin may be one of the most criminally under-rated Canadian artists of all time. the man is is a musical savant, but because of the genre he plays in no one in the mainstream knows it
