Good. EA sports has become lazy as hell. And frankly it sounds like they abuse their employees. How I don't know considering the annual re-hash of their sports games is border line embezzlement and fraud on consumers.

Like Microsoft. Only half joking here because if EA titles became exclusive to the 360 that would be a huge blow to Sony and Nintendo.

It would be a HUGE blow to those platforms, but it would also cost EA 2/3 of its revenue, so no, theres no chance that would ever happen.

While that's true, Microsoft could continue allowing EA to produce games for these companies (probably for a fee) while offering incentives for their own system. I think it's a good time as well right before the next gen of consoles are released.

When Microsoft bought Rare, they wouldn't allow Rare to make any games for competing consoles, except the DS because it didn't directly compete with any Microsoft stuff. Rare also sucked after being acquired, which might be related.

I wouldn't get your hopes up about Microsoft or Valve buying EA. The article specifically says that EA is exploring the option of a take-over by private equity firms. If you follow the link to the original NY Post article, they specifically name KKR and Providence Equity Partners as the interested parties.

If they did sell what would happen to Origin? and what would happen to all the content people bought through it?

Unless EA was liquidated, which would never happen, there is little chance anything drastic would happen to existing Origin services that wouldn't normally happen in a games lifespan.

The next EA sports game I buy will either be MLB or Lacrosse. Until then, their games remain the same year after year and they won't be getting a cent of my money.

When you were born, I was playing this.

Considering EA owns 2 of my favourite MMO's in UO and DAoC.. I hope they do sell.

Both games are currently in a horrible state with a very, very low playerbase. Even if this means the new company shuts them down. I'd rather see it go that way then have it continue in an unplayable state.

Maybe Bioware would go back to being a good company as well.

I played NHL 99 and only NHL 99 from 1998 until 2004, when I finally got a PS2 for my birthday.

Then it was a new game every two years. (2005, 07, 09, 11, 12)

Yes, I was playing NHL 99 by the time I was two. That game was way too easy.
