Tassimo T-Discs?
Anyone know any good spots in town to pick these up? I know Safeway and London Drugs, etc... but they don't always have decent selections.
I like the Starbucks Cappuccino discs and and the Nabob Espresso ones, but I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some of those Seattle's Best discs too.

GF says that Seattle's Best are only available in the states...and that Superstore has the best selection and has the Starbucks stuff.

Awesome, thanks!
I'll go check out that Bed Bath place. I wonder if I can find some of those Seattle's Best ones on eBay or something?

Check other Safeway stores. Ours has an excellent selection and they go on sale regularly.

This is one of the greatest things I have purchased in a long time. There simply is no better cup of coffee, once you find the brand and flavor you prefer.
Living in Red Deer, there are a lot of places that carry them. However, most places don't have anything outside of Nabob, Maxwell House, Starbucks, and the Twinnings Chai Tea Latte. The only place I can pick up decaf and the green tea is at Bed Bath & Beyond...and it is very hard to find the Suchard Hot Chocolate. BB&B is a little more expensive (30-40 cents) than, say Wal-Mart. It is also the only place I have been able to find the filters.
I have a few questions for people that own the Tassimo. First, what do you prefer out of what they offer? Second, what the hell is the difference between the Lattes and the Cappuccinos? They both include the expresso and a milk disc, and both are the exact same proportions of the other. Also, I taste no difference.
Thanks for making this thread.
EDIT: I should add, that you can order pretty much everything directly from the manufacturer. If I remember correctly, you have to order at least 3 packs of something in order for them to ship it.

You know... I keep looking at that Cafe Crema... is it kind of like an Americano Misto?

My wife and I looked at these types of machines when we were looking for a coffee maker.
In the end it just seemed like one of the most epic examples of needless consumerism. You spend $100-150 on a machine that can only make drinks if they come in special packages. Your consumer choice is reduced only to the brands of coffee that have signed a marketing deal with the machine manufacturer.
In the end, we bought a normal $50 machine that can make coffee from any distributor. With the savings, we bought a $20 bean grinder too.
Now, if you can get over that drawback, doubt anything can match the convenience of these single shot machines. I'd still consider a small one for my office out of sheer laziness since making a full pot of coffee for just myself is kinda gross :P

We recently got the Nespresso Pixie as a gift, and honestly, I think it's pretty great. I like my coffee thick as motor oil, and it's the closest I can get to a real espresso without spending a thousand bucks for a good machine/grinder, or going to a place like Phil and Sebastian and spending 4 bucks.
Yeah, it's not cheap and the waste bothers me too, but considering I drink 1-2 a day, the $1.20 or whatever is not that big of a deal. It seems like a fair price to pay for the convenience and relatively decent quality.
Not sure how the Tassimo's compare to Nespresso....although the fact that you can get Tim Horton's ones makes me question them a bit.

I seldom use my Tassimo but when I have wanted to use it, it hasn't disappointed.
That said, I'm not sure I'd buy one again. I think the fact that the Keurig can use refillable cups is pretty slick, and makes me wonder if I'd have been better off with it. I just wish the Tassimo discs were easier to come by.

You can buy Tim Horton's T-discs in their stores. (Cue the haters.)
For a "bang for your buck" Canadian Tire sells the 16 packs of Maxwell House for $6.

For coffee, Superstore brand is actually pretty good. You can get 56 cups for $22.
As for tea, we've only ever had Twinings. It was fine. I'm not a tea guy though.

I think Starbucks had a fight with kraft so they no longer make the tassimo discs and now make k-cups instead which is why tassimo has tim hortons discs now.

I honestly think that Tassimo is on its last legs and that the addition of Tim Hortons was a last ditch effort to save some market share before the patent expires on K-cups next year.
