Will be interesting to see who you have at 13 and 14. Your top 12 is in line with ISS and Future Considerations. 14 is where there starts to show some divergence of opinion. I expect the draft to have some variance as teams may put more of an emphasis on size which could see Barzal and Konecny fall but all in all there seems to be consensus in the scouting community on the top 12.

Despite playing in North America, Svechnikov must be aware of the Russian Factor that seemed to see Nikolai Goldobin, Ivan Barbashev, and Nikita Scherbak drafted lower than their skills should have seen them taken last year. He is the second Russian in our draft rankings after Ivan Provorov. That said Svechnikov will tell anyone who will listen that he has no plans to ever play in the KHL, and wants to be an NHL player.
|
As it says he needs some development on his defensive game. How willing a Russian is to return to junior and spend time in the AHL is a good question for a drafting team since the grind in NA has shown that Russians aren't always ready to work through it.
Could be a steal in the 2nd round if he drops.
