Are you sure it isnt just google?

Same thing happened to me - loaded up Google and it was a different font. I thought the wife had downloaded some toolbar or something, but I cant find it.

I think Google just changed the font in the search text box. The rest of my IE is still the same font.

That is the only difference I notice. And I don't think it is even the font? Just the size is larger?

You might have corrupt fonts or corrupt font settings. One way to fix this is to copy all fonts to a temp folder, then re-install them, overwriting the existing. This fixes corrupt settings. If that fails, then the actual font files may be corrupt and have to be restored from a backup.

Another possibility is you installed a "questionable" program or game. Some of these installers are known to cause font problems.

There are several fixes for this problem.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/firefox.html

http://www.google.com/chrome

http://www.apple.com/safari/

This one will fix the problem but you may be branded as a weirdo or European.

Is it the font of the size? What version of IE? What does the zoom setting in the lower right hand corner of IE say?

What happens when you go into <View><Text Size>?
