Lol. Maybe they brought in Neal just so Gaudreau could have his revenge. Gaudreau has set up some elaborate prank...which he'll pull off...then tell Neal that he also doesn't make the cut for the team. Might explain why Gaudreau signed there. Maybe he pitched that idea around and no one else bit.

Well they bought him out so not really "still" paying him... But he's $1.92mil against their cap for this year, next year and the one after.

Holy crap, I didn't realize it was $2M for the next 3 years against the cap, plus of course $750,000 for Lucic this year, so $2.75 this year for Neal, a player who doesn't play for them, and $2M the next 2 years
