Odd Burger Calgary, Grand Opening Saturday!
Hi all,
My wife and I are opening a new restaurant for Calgary (franchisees).
This has been a project two years in the making and included the primary reason for us to move back home to Calgary from our extended stay in Toronto.
Want to make plant based meals more accessible for all Calgarians and allowing everyone to indulge on truly healthier alternatives to fast food. We're super passionate about the cause, the mission and most importantly the product! For more details please visit: Odd Burger.
Nothing would make us happier than seeing the support from fellow CPers and helping us have a massive and successful grand opening and of course to spread the word to help us.
We will be in soft opening Friday 12-6PM and our grand open event will be Saturday at 12PM, hope to see you there!

I'm not looking for healthier alternatives but I live a few blocks away so I'll definitely stop by. The food looks delicious.

Is everything plant based or is that only part of the menu?
Vegetarian here for 10+ years, I'm in the South but will make a trip.

The entire menu is vegan! Honestly, the food quality will NOT disappoint. Most of our proteins are manufactured in-house resulting in high quality and minimally processed ingredients!

Celiac here - looks like the patties contain gluten? Darn. Looks interesting! Maybe I'll stop by for a shake or dessert sometime!

In full transparency we do have a ways to go in becoming more GF/celiac friendly but we do have optins!
Definitely do and if you're into something fried still, the hashbrowns are great and GF!

Is there a secret CP discount handshake?
Actually, I wouldn't use the discount if it was available. I'd rather pay full price to a place I like to see them succeed.
If I am ever in the neighborhood I will probably stop in.
Best of Luck, I hope you have nothing but success.

It's funny, we were looking to order food last weekend and came across Odd Burger here in London, started looking at the menu and everything looked delicious! My wife pointed out it was a vegan place, so not my cup of tea, but I love that there are options like this for vegan people! Also, like I said, the menu looked great!
I am diabetic and there are very few fast food places that cater to diabetics with things like multi grain buns, salads readily available as a side instead of high carb options like fries or onion rings. Harvey's is the best for me as they do have a multi-grain bun and most locations have salads. Though today I was on the road for work and the one in St. Thomas did not carry salads and I forgot to order with the multi-grain bun, oops, sorry blood sugar!
Good luck on your venture, I believe the one here is doing well!

Good luck with the new restaurant!
I know that my family and I will be coming by to check it out, very interested in this place opening up.

Tough to verify the truly healthier fast food claim when you can't find nutritional information on the website or anywhere. Don't restaurants have to disclose this info?

I wouldn't bank on any of it being healthier. Typically, meat substitutes have to lean on high fat and salt to get close to the taste/mouthfeel of fast food.
That being said I would still probably drop in if I was in the area. I do love me a good veggie burger.

Truly appreciate all the support here!
Just a couple of questions I wanted to address:
1. Corporate is working on a nutritional guide, should be dropped early in the new year. My understanding is a restaurant with 20+ locations needs this which is why it isn't out yet, from a statutory perspective (but don't quote me on the 20+ locations comment).
2. The "healthier" comment is specific to a couple of things, unlike most plant-bassd meat options, ours is minimally processed and we can do that because we have our own production facilities to make this in-house. As an example, many of our items are 6 ingredients or less! This is still fast food, so definitely will not go as far as saying this is completely health conscious food but it's indulging guilt-free as we say!
For those who are interested or even on the fence, sincerely ask that you try, really think you'll be pleasantly surprised, it really is great food!
Again thanks to all for the comments so far, I've read each and every one of them.
